Rebecca's Whims

I don't do this often but I must reach out. My daughter Rebecca and her fiance Noah have been on a tough journey for the last 2 1/2 years. At that time they had a baby, his name is Henry, he was born with severe cerebral palsy, they have had to battle the system and it's red tape, the doctors that are unavailable when they are in need. The therapists that give false hope to enhance their name and job, people in general who judge and have no idea what they are judging. I have watched this family suffer, grow, beat up on each other, and grieve, yet they always seem to be able to find a reason to smile from somewhere in their hearts.

There are 3 other children in this family, Anastasia a phenomenal 14 year old who never tires of giving of herself to her family and her community, Zane a 11 year old that is coming out of himself and has a strong devotion to his baby brothers, And then there is Lew, Lew is 13 months old and a pistol. Lewis loves his big brother Henry, but has no perception of why Henry can't play.

Noah has tried to continue his education and Rebecca works from their small home creating. They are both full time parents to the children and it takes both of them to care for Henry. They must advocate for Henry in every aspect of his living, he is tube fed, He screams continuously , wheelchair fittings, doctors appointments, therapy appointments, eye appointments (Henry is blind), sleepless night (most of them), they have several different places they must do paperwork for, proving themselves and Henry are in need, over and over again.

They are tired, they will not give up.

I am writing this to let you know of Rebecca's Etsy store, all her product is hand made from the heart. The income she makes from this store is used to help support her family, her store badge is at the top of my page, please click on it and take a look at her product. Christmas is coming and her prices are very reasonable.

I am including links to her blogs here as well so you can read the rest of the story. Thank you for reading.

I loved Henry from the moment I saw his photo from your post... as well as Anastasia, Zane and Lew...I give each of them a warm loving hug...

I had a chance to take care of CP patients in Manila. My Arabic teacher and her brothers are also CP... I saw how strong parents with CP are and they are capable of weathering any storm...

I love your post...so sorry I can't help financially though...

  9. Jan, it needs a lot of courage to face such reality. i appreciate the patience required to carry on life along with the the smiling face back to hold on to the bond naturally.

i do not know how much i can contribute to their well- being monetarily but always pray to God to be their strength so that they keep up to their smile despite of their everyday struggle and pain. God bless.

  10. You know they say only special parents are blessed with special children. Not all parents can raise a child who is challenged and what Rebecca and her husband Noah are doing raising their kids are commendable. Will go take look a the link now.
